What are regulatory bodies on the radio?

Regulatory bodies are legal bodies that govern telecommunications in different countries and for the United Kingdom that is OfCom.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_telecommunications_regulatory_bodies)
They have to abide by set laws/ codes for TV adverts, as to not put provocative or other such things on air which closely interlinks with the censorship law in other countries and the United Kingdom. The code contains quite a lot of requirements to be followed which are:
  • Age Restrictions:
  • Offensive Language: Throughout the years there has been slight a leeway on what sort of language is suitable for the public to hear at certain times of the day. Now some have been able to slip throughout the cracks as they are seen as safe for the publics view.
  • Laws/Codes: They are put in place to stop offensive and derogative adverts from showing on air, but as i said before.
